The Jeep Wrangler and All Its Offerings

At Mullahey Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Paso Robles, plenty of people ask us about what separates all the various Jeep models from one another. In response to all these inquiries, we thought we'd breakdown one Jeep in particular: the Jeep Wrangler. This compact SUV is so much more than your average small sports utility vehicle, and we feel people have a right to know about what it's capable of doing for them.

In this write-up on the Wrangler, we'll be discussing the vehicle's performance, safety, standard features, and the differences between its trim levels. There's a lot to go over there, so we'll try to be as concise as possible. Without any further meanderings, let's get into the Jeep Wrangler!

Performance

The Wrangler may technically be a compact SUV, but this vehicle does so much more than the competition in its class that you may as well call it a compact pickup. This Jeep specializes in being an everyman of vehicles, able to adopt a variety of roles, and navigate a wide array of environments.

The Wrangler's available engine options make it an ideal choice for someone trying to find a vehicle that can almost do everything. Right now, you can get the Wrangler with five different engine options, each delivering something a little different in terms of power output. We'll just discuss the standard engine option for all thirteen models of the Wrangler: the 3.6-liter V6 engine. This engine, paired with a six-speed manual transmission, gives you quite a lot of options to work with and delivers 285 HP, 260 lb-ft of torque, and this time around features Stop/Start technology.

Safety

The Wrangler offers plenty of safety and security features, as you might expect from a vehicle of this caliber. Standard safety features include Blind Spot Monitoring, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic High-Beams, and Adaptive Cruise Control. These features work with the driver to warn of potential hazards, automatically react to situations the driver doesn't need to and act as another pair of eyes for Arroyo Grande drivers.

Standard Features

The standard features and amenities of the Jeep Wrangler need to be mentioned as well, for their inclusivity and overall comprehensive nature. They will please a large swathe of people looking for Jeeps, and those unsatisfied few would be looking for higher-level trims anyway.

Standard features we were impressed with were the aforementioned safety features, as they provide more layers of protection and work well. The rearview camera is another helpful standard feature to be included on the Wrangler. The UConnect 3 infotainment system is a great inclusion and is very easy to use and navigate in order to listen to music or podcasts while commuting from Atascadero to San Luis Obispo. These standard features were the ones worth mentioning.

Trim Breakdown

Sport

The Sport is the least expensive Wrangler option, and sports the standard 3.6-liter engine and all the standard features. Cloth bucket seats help make this vehicle easy to sit in comfortably.

Sport S

The Sport S model takes the Sport and adds a few upgrades here and there for a slightly higher price. If you liked the Sport but want a leather-wrapped steering wheel in it, then the Sport S is for you.

Sport Altitude

The Sport Altitude adds features like the three-piece hardtop, as well as the option of including available features like the Alpine Premium Audio System or UConnect 4 touchscreen, which is bigger than the standard touchscreen.

Black and Tan

The Black and Tan features a standard Command-Trac Part-Time four-wheel-drive system, and the option to be customized with a number of further amenities, like the eight-speed automatic transmission.

Willys

The Willys features the ability to include a variety of optional features, including the Black Sunrider Soft Top and the three-piece Hard Top.

Willys Sport

The Willys Sport model has a lot in common with the other Sport models. Besides the inclusion of standard Rock Protection Sill Rails, it's virtually identical to the Sport.

Freedom

Standard "Normal Duty" suspension and a standard leather-wrapped steering wheel are what separates this vehicle from the other Wrangler models.

Sahara

With the Sahara, you can get the optional leather-wrapped shift knob and Black Sunrider Soft Top.

Sahara Altitude

The Sahara comes with added customized features.

Rubicon

The Rubicon makes extra features like the Heavy-Duty four-wheel-drive system and the Performance Suspension standard.

North Edition

Standard heavy-duty suspension, standard three-piece hardtop, and standard fender flares mark this model as a premium option.

Rubicon Recon

Standard rock protection sill rails, standard premium cloth bucket seats, and standard performance suspension shows that we're finally at the upper tiers.

High Altitude

The High Altitude has a standard eight-speed automatic transmission, the standard part-time four-wheel-drive system, and standard premium audio.
