2020 Jeep Gladiator at Mullahey Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram

With an open-air character, a high-grade and modern interior, 33" off-road tires, an unbeatable amount of factory-spec accessories, and great off-roading skills, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator is bounding ahead of the competition rapidly. It established its earliest manifestation in 1963, yet it has been revived from time and redesigned from the ground up. Just look at that fold-down windshield, not to mention the removable doors with a sunroof to know it's a true Jeep! Afraid this Jeep vehicle traded-in core strengths for a pickup body-style? Nope. Enter the Gladiator's sway-bar disconnect, Best-In-Class towing & payload titles (mid-size 4x4 crew cabs), Tru-Lok electronic lock front/rear differentials, 30" high of water-fording, and a buyer's win-win decision between the Rock-Trac 4x4 or the Command-Trac systems. Not enough somehow? Consider that Jeep and Mopar put their heads together to create over 200 customized accessories for the Gladiator that are factory-sanctioned and color-coordinated! How is power routed through the Gladiator?

The Gladiator is a beast in the ring and can haul up to 1,600-lbs or tow up to 7,650-lbs when configured to do so. Ths Jeep pickup truck can hire either a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 or a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, both of which are able to saddle right up to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The options don't stop there however, Jeep has provided a 6-speed manual transmission for the 3.6-liter as well, for those who desire even more of that special off-roading feel when in the trenches. Both engines bestow a standard Engine Stop-Start (ESS) technology as needed to save on fuel!

Will you outline some of the design elements of the 2020 Gladiator?

The Gladiator keeps a few things the same because they are already well-loved, even since the late 1960s, such as the keystone-shaped grille, square tail lamps, round headlights, detachable doors, and now body-color sport bars with grab handles! The 2020 Jeep Gladiator model levels are: Sport, Sport S, Overland, & Rubicon. A pinch-and-zoom favorable 4th-generation Uconnect system now allows Apple CarPlay & Android Auto integration and displays on either a 7-inch or an optional 8.4-inch touchscreen. Jeep Performance Parts gets in on the features and accessories action, and brings items like steel bumpers that can manage a winch, 2" tubular steel doors, mesh or solid sun-bonnets, 3 tonneau cover possibilities, or a 2-inch lift kit! The Crew Cab form has a 5-foot steel truckbed with both wonderful locations for tying things down in the truckbed as well as a handy power outlet. That continues with elements such as a factory spray-in bedliner, 17-inch Beadlock wheels, "Moab" trails-logo all-weather floor mats, striking hood/side-graphics, 7-inch off-roading LEDs, locking truckbed storage drawers, and truckbed cross rails. Also indoors is a standard 3.5-inch (or a plausible 7-inch) thin-film transistor (TFT) information LED display, and even a transferable wireless speaker stored in the rear seat area. There are lasting UV-resistant mesh pockets that spread the extent of the doors and several phone storage spaces as well. And this list is truly just getting started!

Can you quickly run through some off-roading features?

Springs and 2-inch diameter FOX brand shocks have been arranged to absorb off-road bounce as well as highway-level speeds, an excellent central range that comes pre-set from Jeep's production line. That's something anyone who drove the 1968 version will notice immediately! It further has electrical sections that are geared up to repel water for (up to 30-inches), heavy-gauge skid plates, the "4LO" ratio of 4:1 within the Rubicon's Rock-Trac 4x4 system, a breakover angle of 20.3-degrees, and HD column-shaped steel rock rails. The Gladiator puts in a reliable 5-link coil suspension that works independently for both the front and rear. Assigned to Gladiator Rubicon models, an off-road camera that can wash off mud from its own lens with a button push appears as an option, which mixes well with the inherent Off-road Pages, plus, the Rubicon gets 11.1-inches of ground clearance. On Sport & Overland models, see the remarkably competent Command-Trac 4x4 system with 2.72:1 crawl ratio, as it is standard. When the Gladiator sees uneven terrain, its grin only gets wider, especially with its segment-exclusive front sway bar disconnect, steel rock rails behind the rear wheels (not just between the wheels), and heavy-duty forged front/rear tow hooks! Let's be real, this is the only pickup truck on the market that is Trail Rated, and that's because it's ultra-capable!
